Measurement of the microwave permittivity of polymer materials for high-speed optical modulator design
Résumé
We report here a technique that we used to determine the complex permittivity of film structured polymer materials in the microwave frequency range. The goal is to obtain the data that are requested to design the microwave electrodes of Mach-Zehnder type optical modulators. As an example, the technique is applied to two materials that can be used in the fabrication of a high-speed optical polymer based modulator.
