HF propagation in a complex maritime environments from an asymptotic approach validated from a based-MoM rigorous code

Résumé

In the context of HF (typically 3-30 MHz) prop- agation over sea surfaces, this paper presents the computation of the attenuation function (related to the ratio of the scattered field over the incident field) for a curved rough surface in the presence of is- lands, like sea-land-sea mixed curved paths. Two approaches are then developed (i) An asymptotic ap- proach based on the Bremmer and Feinberg works (residues series) and extended, from an heuristic way, to include the surface roughness (ii) A based- MoM rigorous code in order to validate the asymp- totic approach.
