Multispectral glasses transparent from the visible up to the thermal infrared in GeSe2-Ga2Se3-CsI system
Abstract
This work is based on the development of glasses transparent from the visible to the thermal IR. A study of the chalco-halide system GeSe2-Ga2Se3-CsI has been realized and some compns. allow the synthesis of multi-spectral glasses transparent from 0,6 to 16 μm. Indeed, the addn. of CsI in the glassy matrix GeSe2-Ga2Se3 enable to shift the band-gap cutoff to lower wavelength. This addn. will also induce a weaker resistance to corrosion. A compromise between a good transparency and an acceptable resistance is desirable. Moreover, an antireflective coating would allow to optimized the chem. durability of the glass and avoid the contact from atm. moisture.
