Experimental Characterization of an X-Band Transmitarray with a Reduced Focal Distance

Résumé

We present here the characterization of a 1-bit linearly-polarized reconfigurable 20x20-element transmitarray operating in X-band with a reduced focal distance. The array is illuminated by four 10-dBi horns excited in phase and whose positions have been optimized; this leads to a 45% reduction of the focal distance. The numerical results are validated experimentally in radiation for different beam configurations, and a good agreement with the numerical simulations is demonstrated
