Wideband low-profile monopole antenna for mobile and wireless monitoring applications
Abstract
A compact wideband monopole antenna for mobile and wireless monitoring applications is presented. The proposed antenna will be implemented in a wireless system devoted to remote monitoring water and wastewater applications. The antenna is mainly designed to operate within the frequency range of 700-2700 MHz covering different mobile and wireless frequency bands with a return loss less than -6dB. Omnidirectional radiation pattern and improved radiation performances are very suitable. An optimization process based on global algorithm has been used to achieve the design goals. The design of the proposed antenna is carried out using optimization and simulation tools of full-wave electromagnetic simulation software. A prototype of the proposed antenna was manufactured and tested in order to verify the performances of the antenna including in the real environment conditions. © 2016 European Association of Antennas and Propagation.
