Development of flight behaviour of successive generations of desert locust (Schistocerca gregaria) raised in isolation then in groups

Résumé

Studied the flight behavior of desert locusts over successive generations of isolation or group rearing. Findings indicate that the relationship between flight behavior and density is not as simple as has been proposed. The solitary state appeared to have some dynamic stimulatory effect on the grouped state that acted over successive generations. (8 ref)
