Structural characterisation of the first mononuclear bismuth porphyrin

Abstract : A single carboxylate picket bismuth porphyrin has been characterised in the solid state as the first instance of a nondimeric structure; the carboxylate picket, bent over the macrocycle, is coordinated to the bismuth, inducing a significant distortion of the porphyrin core.
