Grafting cyclams or related compounds over a porphyrin

Abstract : The synthesis and characterization of several new polymacrocycles containing a porphyrin and one or two cyclam units are described. The use of 1,8-ditertbutyloxycarbonyl cyclam (1,8-diBoc-cyclam) led to new biomimetic models in good yields. In order to tune the distance between the macrocycles, two different linkers were successively used. Such a method might promote a bimetallic interaction between the two corresponding complexes.
