Abstract
Following the first transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) performed by Cribier et al. in 2002 [1], the procedure has evolved considerably, to the point where it is now on the verge of posing a viable treatment option among intermediate surgical risk patients with symptomatic severe aortic stenosis.
