Millimeter wave dosimetry at exposure of cell monolayers

Résumé

The specific absorption rate, the amplitude of the electric field and the power flux density of millimeter waves in a cell monolayer within a well of a multi-well plate or a Petri dish are calculated. The radiation power absorption decrease in the cell layer compared to the solution is shown. The presence of the cells causes a slight increase of the electric field amplitude in the medium. The dielectric of the bottom of the well or Petri dish plays the role of a coupling layer that results in complex frequency dependences of the power reflection coefficient and the specific absorption rate. © 2017, Pleiades Publishing, Inc.
