Internally loaded endfire superdirective array for wideband performance

Abstract : This paper presents the design of a compact broadband superdirective endfire array. The unit element of the array is a compact wideband antenna, loaded internally by inductive loads. By forming an array of wideband elements, a wideband behaviour can be achieved in terms of matching as well as directivity. The antenna design and load optimization was done using the network characteristic modes theory. Measurement results are presented to validate the simulations. © Institution of Engineering and Technology.All Rights Reserved.
