, diene 12a plus TFA and NEt 3 (green line), recorded in CH 2 Cl 2 . In conclusion, the reactivity of 5-bromopenta-2,4-diynenitrile (BrC 5 N, 2) was explored in different conditions and revealed its ability to form ?-extended systems. In particular, a series of dienes was synthesized in variable yields, far from the Cadiot-Chodkiewicz products that were initially targeted. This unprecedented reactivity shows this molecule has a very high synthetic potential and paves the way to the synthesis of other original carbon-rich scaffolds
