Comprendre l’impact environnemental du secteur de la santé : Pour un leadership partagé en faveur d’un système de santé durable et résilient

Abstract : Global warming - through the increase in frequency and intensity of meteorological extremes (heat waves, floods, etc.) - has a considerable short and long term influence on our living environment and our health. This process of global change exacerbates existing health risks and modifies the environment more generally, thus promoting air and water pollution, food insecurity, the occurrence of vector-borne diseases and the deterioration of mental health (Reports of the Lancet Countdown 2019 and 2020). The health care system itself, through its health care production activities, contributes to the global warming. The article describes the need to train health professionals on health and environment issues in order to enable them to actively participate in the ecological transition of health.
